This is the largest flock of needertails i've seen in the ACT for many years. Four of my shots with a 100mm lens had between 130 and 140 individuals in view. My conservative estimate was 200 but possibly as many as 300 across the sky. Mist had just cleared from ranges. Initially a couple of birds zooming through at treetop height.

I've had my eyes peeled looking for these for years now, haven't seen them since I left coastal NSW.
