I've seen both O. zonoteles and O. lygrosema on the ALA. They look very similar and I'm not sure I can tell them apart, however I may be missing something. O' lygrosema is included on Lepidodoptera Butterfly House, but O. zonoteles is not.

You are right Ian. I now actully think it looks more like O. lygrosema going by the lighter shade of all markings accept for the dark collar. It may be safest to leave it as O. (genus).

Meyrick says the the two species may be distinguished by their basal fascia, which is partly dark brown in O. lygrosema, and entire in O. zonoteles.

If this is O. acceptella then there seems to be a great deal of variation possible as regards the amount of white found on the thorax and the thickness of the black band behind it compared with the other CNM sightings of O. acceptella and sighting No. 4399682 which is similar in that regard as this specimen.

Yes, it's not O. acceptella

It looks like the relatively few but widespread from Brisbane to Capertree Valley ANIC specimens of O. lygrosema, and also the type photo of that species.

I note the ALA has several Oxythecta lygrosema specimens for Victoria too.
