Photos of bearded dragons submitted to CNM are very helpful as it once thought that it to be a species that is declining in and around urban areas. The blurry photo makes this individuals hard to confirm - and that is probably why John has suggested it rather that ticking it off. I support John's suggestion and agree it is P. barbata. This species has been seen a number of times at Mt Taylor. In addition, there are very few records of other species of bearded dragon that have been accidentally or deliberately released in the ACT. The only recent record that I know of is of a single P. vitticeps (released at the Botanic Gardens). Other users may know of more records and it would be interesting to know about them.
Hi Barrie, just following up again about the bearded dragon record. I opened your photos on another computer and they were quite a bit clearer. I seem to have this problem on my regular computer with some CNM images. The slightly clearer image reinforced my view that it is a Pogona barbata. Thanks again for your record.
