User's notes

disturbed when a White-necked Heron landed in the grassy area in the distance opposite Cygnus hide a large flock flew up about half stayed low to the grass while the other half circled up higher then landed back in the grassy area. Great observation, and an exceptionally high count.

Thanks we were very happy that the White-necked Heron decided to land there, now we know another spot they like to hide. They have been so hard to see this season because of how much water there is and how long the grass is everywhere, so it was nice to know they really are out there :)

Yes, prior to this most records this season have been one or two birds, mostly flushed, since the water level is so high. It's not really that surprising that they would still be there, but just more hidden and difficult to see than usual.
