Tail deficit but skink very active. Pity 'Common' appears in their name on the Canberra Nature Map but not described as common in the NPA field guide to Reptiles and Frogs of the ACT.

Yes aside from the word "common" there have been some attempts over the years to also remove the words "garden" and "grass" from these skinks. Lampropholis guichenoti is variously called Grass Skink (Wilson and Swan), Garden Skink (Robertson and Coventry), Grass or Garden Skink (Bennett), Pale-flecked Garden SunSkink (Cogger). As you can see the word "common" is not in these texts so not sure where that came from.
