Lone male sheoak in bushland. Very difficult to spot. I have walked this track many times and never noticed it until I saw male flowers on the ground and wondered where they had come from. Tree approx 4m tall and very spindly in amongst much taller Eucalypts. Trunk diameter only 45mm. Bark rough to touch but not strongly furrowed. Male flower spikes to 10cm long but most around 6-8cm. Branchlets that I measured were 30 to 50cm long, with internodes to 20mm and 9 teeth. Since finding this tree I have spent many hours searching for others nearby but have not yet spotted any.
