Hi Intinerating family, There are several local skinks that lack dorsal stripes. They can be identified by differences in lateral stripes and body form so an additional photo showing the sides (and other different parts) of the animal would help. (That's frequently the case with photo-ID of small animals.) But just from this photo I think this is a Delicate Skink.
Actually the lack of a lateral shot has made this one a bit difficult to id, but as I can see see what looks like a dark lateral stripe I think it may be Morethia boulengeri. I would be keen for Will to hazard an opinion?
Yes John - I agree - Morethia boulengeri. Greyish back colour with those dark flecks often present on Morethia. I think i can also see part of a lateral white stripe on the lizards LHS and that would be typical of Morethia in the ACT. I will change the id to Morethia.
