very surprised to see any Dragonflies in the middle of winter let alone a mating pair plus another single one, best guess on the ID.
They were a fair way out so best could do

Yep - they're one of the first species to get active in ACT. But even so, 6 August is early. My earliest have been 19 Aug in 2016 and 30 Aug 2020. On both occasions they were in tandem pairs and/or laying.

Thanks Harvey, yes we thought it was early to see Dragonflies, did not realize they started laying so fast and while it was still cold. Appreciate the info, thanks for all you do.
