User's notes

It looks like a sugar glider tail. Hopefully it does not mean a cat got it, it was possibly an owl?

Thanks Don. Would you know what would predate on it in this way? I have heard that owls snip off their tails.

Powerful Owls, probably some other owls, cats and foxes, all might cut off the tail and leave it uneaten. Not sure what a domestic dog would do - might differ between breeds, with larger breeds eating it whole and medium ones being more selective. Sugar Gliders, our species now called Krefft's Glider, are social, so you may see others in the same area, in the evening or at night. I should have changed the species name initially, but have done now.
