I believe this is a Nolidae

Seems to match Nola interspersa on iNaturalist. Only one indistinct speciment shown on Bold Systems 4 which looks not incompatible. Cannot find images on the ALA although it says there are six records.

I don't know where this name comes from. It's not on the printed Checklist or ALA, and iNAT doesn't have any taxonomic info. Records are rare and northern. When I searched ALA it only gave me Halone interspersa. It therefore seems an unlikely identification. I haven't done a search of Nola.

OK. Doesn't seem to match Halone interspersa although overall pattern is similar.

I think whatever its origin the species iNaturalist calls 'Nola interspersa' (4 observations only two visible ) is a much better match to this photo. See

Halone interspersa has a curved forewing costa, unlike this specimen.

4373900 and 4373900 may be Nola tetralopha. Not all specimens have the sharp black lines of the first CNM record, or the iNAT records. See some of the BOLD records.

I have no basis for confirmi.ng N. tetralopha. N. tetralopha on the ALA looks different to me and and I dont find the Bold Systems photos óf that species convincing.

In that case it will have to remain as Nola (family). The iNAT record is unconfirmed (the other commentators suggested Nola sp), it's from far north of the ACT, and as far as I can discover the name isn't a valid one.
