User's notes

Noticed this unusual looking flowering head in a garden. No leaves apparent. Flowering had finished but apparently before going brown flowers were white with flecks of purple. Height was around 38cm for each of the two flowering stalks.

It's a parasitic plant introduced to Australia (see https://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/NSWfl.pl?page=nswfl&lvl=sp&name=Orobanche~minor) and has been exceptionally common in Canberra this spring/summer.

There is a glitch where this shows as 'Highly sensitive' in the Latest discussions list. Is that why I can't see the location?

It's showing up as Not sensitive in the species information section so I'm not sure why you're getting Highly sensitive. If the problem persists it'd be worth contacting one of the administrators.
