I have uploaded another photo taken about a week earlier- may help distinguish between this weed and variable groundsel.
What happens next?
Count the bracts, look for seed, and take more photos and then dig it out? There probably are seed by now.
Who will do that?
It is not a disturbed looking site, I'd hate to pull out a rare native plant,

Plant has been removed by Ranger staff - it had seeded already - site will continue to be monitored
