This is surely not news to most people who follow such things, but the north shoulder of Mt Ainslie is massively overrun with hedge mustard (Sisymbrium officinale), the open area from the south up to the top where the trees start, at least, and spilling down either side in some rather massive patches. No idea what the viable control options would be, put perhaps something like the mechanical operation that was done along the top of the Ainslie-Majura connecting ridge would help (but this has gotten much further into more difficult areas). Have not noticed anything like this in previous years (this view from the centennary trail on the east side coming up from the powerlines).
