Significant sighting

Illilanga noted:

2 Oct 2020

Rare, non-breeding summer migrant. These birds may be seen further inland during this summer season due to the impact of the 2019/2020 coast fires.

User's notes

I was alerted by the deep call, and then saw a currawong hassling something - which turned out to be a channel-billed cuckoo (bigger than than the currawong.)

Thank you! I was stoked - and very, very surprised! I'd recently seen people talking about them on Birds in Backyards FB, but then to actually see one? Amazing! And as the currawong was annoyed by it, I wonder if there's a cuckoo about to be raised by the currawong?
