One of a number of orchids located beside the fire trail, including 3 sub-species of caladenia and one purple-coloured orchid (species unknown) . Not sure if I've identified the sub-species correctly in this image.
Caladenia carnea flowers later and typically has multiple flowers and a green stem. This is C. fuscata which is one of the first caladenias to flower, is single flowered, and has a thinner and darker stem.
Thanks, Matt. It's so lovely to see them blooming again. I think the native orchids must have struggled in the drought, as I don't think I spotted any last year.
