Onitis alexis and O. aygulus are similar. I think this one is O. aygulus, based on the position of the clypeal ridge (lying across the spade-shaped front of the head) being nearer to the front of the head than to the frontal ridge (lying across the head in front of the eyes). The other character separating the two species is the shape of the spur on the hind femur of the male, but that is not visible in these shots.
