User's notes
Looks good to me for a Long-billed Corella X Sulphur-crested Cockatoo. The bill is quite long and the Yellow ( That would usually be Red on a Long-Billed Corella is present on both the face and chest.

I added the new species, but think it may be more Little Corella (not Long-billed) but does have an abnormally long bill.

Thanks, Luke. I am still firm on L-b C x and have support from others but am happy with what the mods want to put it up as.

Ok you seem to know more than me so happy to go with your opinion. We will wait and see what the others have to say.

Luke, my apologies, i did not want to come across as someone to deny your opinion. You may well be right but i wanted to put my opinion out there. I could well be wrong? with my thoughts. I would be very interested in why? you think a LC x ? Perhaps because it is the most likely?

I just thought that maybe Little Corella is more likely because it doesn't really have any Long-billed characteristics other than the longer bill. (No red on throat or face) But searched around and found this article of a presumed Long-billed Corella X Sulphur-crest hybrid (https://natureoutwest.wordpress.com/2014/07/18/hybrid-cockatoo-in-melton/). Looks very similar to yours so I think your opinion may be correct.

I have added another photo that i have applied vibrance to make the yellow on the face and chest stand out more ( would be red on L-b C ).

It would probably take more than just photos to be absolutely certain of the of which Corella, but with the bit of yellow on the throat and the long bill I'm happy to support LBC x. Perhaps also more likely than LC given it might be harder for LBCs to find mates and a closer size to SCCs? Anyhow a very fascinating record.

Thanks Shorty for putting yours on, will relist ours and hopefully it will go through as well as it had the same characteristics as the one in your photos.

Sorry all but i have had my photos checked by Joseph Forshaw ( World renowned Parrot expert ) and he suggests a Little X . It still looks like a different bird to my other one so there may be two around.

interesting to know, if only the bird could tell us who it's parents were, be much easier. The one we put on could be the same or who knows (41912).

Well it seems i had a seniors moment, i misread the email and Joe is stating that this bird would be L-b X

Thanks for taking the time to follow this up. Its good to have some confident confirmation of the ID.

No worries Luke, i really should take more care when reading my mail :( The eBird moderators are now looking into adding it in to the list of hybrids.
