Thanks for the sighting Gunyijan. We would appreciate if you could use your best estimate for abundance, rather than a range, for birds. For example, 18, rather than 16-100. This is to fit in with best practice for bird survey data. Cheers, Sandra

Thanks for your guidance Sandra. For the larger birds (and other animals) that reside on our 50 hectare property, I provide the actual number that are resident at the time of the report of the individual. I find the actual number difficult for small birds. Should I just provide the actual number in the feeding cohort that I observe? Appreciate any advice you can provide. Janette

A best estimate of the individual species of small birds is fine. The main reason for doing this is that there is a big difference between reporting 16 and 100 Speckled Warblers for example. :) Hope that helps.
