Thanks for the ID. I probably should have mentioned that it appeared to have just emerged from the roots of the Black Wattle on which I saw it (judging by the cocoon sticking out of the ground just below it). I agree it looks a lot like the other Endoxyla Encalypti images, but I couldn't see the clear bright blue area around the head in other pictures. Is it a different species from Leucomochla or just a different name?
I think the blue shows up better in photos than with just an eyeball, and don't know how widespread it is across Endoxyla species. E. encalypti and the similar E. liturata are the most common ACT species, and E. leucomochla is different.
