Just over 1m tall, growing among pine trees, crowded by pine seedlings.

I thought it was the same as Daisy Olearia lirata (Snowy Daisybush) on 6 Oct 2017 nearby which also has opposite leaves at the end of stems, but I will check.

Ignore my previous comment. I have been back and checked. Leaves definitely alternate. Top view deceptive.
