You've accidentally put in 2 species in the one sighting

Alison, many thanks for your many excellent contributions to the CNM. I am wondering about the history of this submission and note that Rhy indicates that there appears to be two species in the one sighting. I also wonder why you consider the image to be that of a Fan-tailed Cuckoo. Looks more like a Pallid to me but you may have further information. Chris

Chris, the lightly rufous underparts, and the yellow eye ring would indicate a Fan-tailed Cuckoo. Alison has removed a fourth image which had initially snuk into this report which Ryu refers to.

Thanks Chris. I'm still learning some birds such as the cuckoos. However, I photographed a Fan-tailed Cuckoo in the same area previously. The fourth photo, which I removed, was of a Collared Sparrowhawk, who have a nest nearby.
