Seedharvesting ants were active at the various sites - entering and leaving via the hole which is visible - the ants are small - only about 2-3mm long.

Would you be able to get a close up picture of one of the ants? It's too difficult to be sure of the ID as there are a few seed harvesters in Canberra, such as species of Monomorium.

The ants are so small and still there, but the seed is all gone, but I doubt that my camera is able to get a picture, also they scurry around so quickly. I could catch some and freeze them and try. Thank you for your comments.
