User's notes
On the western side of the Murrumbidgee River, north of Tharwa. Martin Lagerwey's ID from BowerBird was Paropsisterna species.

I am not convinced that its the melanic form of variicollis. There are a number of all black species of Paropsisterna in our area. Were there any normal colour forms of variicollis in the vicinity?

I have several sightings of P. variicollis nearby, the nearest one is:
Paropsisterna variicollis (Eucalyptus variegated beetle) on 21 Jan 2015
But if we have local black species we can stick with Paropsisterna sp.
