Michael The ACT Census of Vascular Plants lists Photonia serratifolia but not P. glabra - I don't know the difference. Could it be that this registered plant is P. serratifolia?
Thanks Waltraud your question made me do a little research. Photinia glabra (Japanese Photinia) has leaves 2-4 inches in size and has red new growth. Photinia serrulata (Chinese Photinia) has leaves 4-8 inches long and pinky red new growth. Both Japanese and Chinese Photinia are grown in Canberra gardens, with Japanese Photinia now largely replacing Chinese Photinias in the nursery. Looking at the leaves of the CNM three sightings I consider them all to be Chinese Photinia - Thanks for helping with this correction.
