If you look at the labellum of C. moschata, you may notice that the calli (the little bumps) and teeth along the edge of the labellum have colour. In C. cucullata this occurs too, however the labellum itself is often an intense reddish colour giving the impression the flower has used lipstick. Mind you, this is all based on my own observations.
I revisited the site on 28/10/15 but unfortunately was unable to find any specimens persisting. Only one dried up flower stalk found with flowers unrecognisable. This is perhaps not surprising, because the site is sandy and sightings of rabbits were made and evidence of their digging and dropping was evident on all sides.
