I need some help to identify this acacia. The phyllodes are about 10cm long and multi-veined though only one shows clearly in the photo. The flower spikes have about 45 flowers which are widely spaced. An earlier photo is in the 'unidentified' section.

This looks a bit like Acacia floribunda? It has that pale yellow colour and long thin leaves, with one main vein but also numerous fainter ones. Did it have a visible marginl gland?

A site visit on 23 Sep 2017 confirmed Acacia floribunda. Many small specimens were noted over a wide area, with the obvious sources being large trees in nearby gardens and from a laneway leading from Kaepel Place onto the reserve.

I was walking here today and wasn’t sure these are actually floribunda as they are forming flower buds now... they look like floribunda but I was wondering if they might be Acacia Longissima?

Thanks were there any seed pods present that may help with ID, otherwise a specimen can be taken to teh CSIRO herbarium and Dave Albrecht will do an ID

According to PlantNet Acacia floribunda flowers Jun-Sep while A. longissima flowers a bit later, Oct-Mar. This sighting showing flowers is from September.

No, there weren’t any seed pods present. They had flower spikes forming but weren’t flowering yet. I should have taken a picture! I was thinking first up that maybe they were flowering in response to all the rain we have had and maybe are just going for it now regardless of when they’re ‘supposed’ to flower. I’ve seen other acacias flowering outside their normal times. That was only say one or two plants and the rest weren’t though. These ones all seem to be forming their flower spikes.
They are obviously escapees from the house nearby that has a large specimen hanging over the fence...
I will try and get back there in the next few days and at least get a photo.

Just re read your post above about flowering times. I take it all back lol. I was looking somewhere else that was saying flowers in Spring. Just checked atlas of living Australia which also says June onwards which would make perfect sense.
