The very narrow white hair bands are at the front edge of the abdominal segments showing that this is a Lasioglossum species. Lipotriches have hair bands on the rear edge of their abdominal segments. Other indications are the red abdomen (the very few Lipotriches species with red abdomens are found in arid areas) and the relatively slender body. L. (Parasphecodes) species don't usually show hair bands, but when the abdomen is distended with nectar, very narrow white bands may be seen.
