Author's notes

Prior to Ian Thompson's revision of the non-ligulate Senecio species, this would have keyed to S. tenuiflorus, but that species is now thought to occur only north from Sydney. The very narrow-foliaged plants that are not quite silvery enough to be quadridentatus are now microbasis. This specimen keyed to that satisfactorily - about 9 involucral bracts, <25 florets per head, leaves with "coarse" ie multiseptate hairs, some cottony hairs but not covered in them like quadridentatus. Growing in snow gum woodland.
