P nasuta male has a slightly concave costa. I was thinking this too straight for that?

I see what you mean. Actually, I think it does have a slightly concave costa - especially on the LHS.

Looks ever so slightly concave to me too but more importantly, what better photos could I take to distinguish between the two, or is it always going to be this difficult?

Yes. We may have to settle for Lasiocampidae species for this one.
Many moth species have superficially undistinguishable forms, and can only be distinguished by microscopic examination of the genitalia, or DNA analysis.
Identifying species from photos of whole adults is only possible for species that have unique characteristics, such as wing patterns, or locations, or behaviour.

This is a Pararguda nasuta male. Most of the CNM records are females.
