Oxychilus alliarius, commonly known as the Garlic Snail or Garlic Glass-snail, is a species of small, air-breathing land snail, in the glass snail family, Oxychilidae.
Garlic Snails have been introduced to Australia and represent a major threat to native snail diversity. Their common name is derived from the garlic odour they produce when threatened or crushed. Many species of Oxychilus snails are omnivorous and feed on the eggs, and possibly the young, of native snails and slugs as well as earthworms and vegetation.
