The smooth caps may grow to 15 mm in diameter (with a slightly smaller height), are more or less of a rounded, conical shape in shades of reddish brown (darker towards the centre) and with radial striations. The stems are smooth and reddish-brown. When damaged, these mushrooms bleed a reddish fluid. They grow on wood, in particular on twig litter, and usually appear in clusters.
