Adelotopus sp. (genus) (Adelotopus ground beetle)

Predators associated with ants; the beetles' larvae probably feed on the ants. Other members of the family Carabidae have long legs and antennae, but these have them short, probably a protective adaptation to enable them to keep those organs under the body and safe from ant attack.
