Spilonota-group (A Tortricid moth)

This group of genera - principally Spilonota, Strepsicrates and Holocola - contains complexly patterned and often variable grey species that are difficult to identify to species level when only a photo is available. Some have a distinctive form that is included in their own species page in CNM - Spilonota constrictana, Strepsicrates infensa and Strepsicrates macropetana as at December 2020, several individual Holocola species added later.  All other species are grouped on this page, along with the more cryptic forms of S. infensa and S. macropetana.  Strepsicrates infensa  has longer labial palpi than S. macropetana.
