Hi theparisbell,
I am leading a citizen science project on this species. We are seeking DNA from the region because two genotypes are apparent in our early results and it is desirable to locate more populations of the unusual one, which has so far been found in only one small site. Such a finding would increase the priority/value of fox control in the area.
Your observation is special because they they rarely live in such places. (This one may have been just passing through). If you ever see a roadkill on Brindabella Rd or in that area, please refrigerate it and call me on 0428 48 9990.
