Stevie - part 2. As part of my walk, I went to check the Stevie hollow - was the male still guarding their hollow? How long would he continue? However, instead of a male, there was a grey female gang-gang, perched above the hollow, her head hung down. I thought the new pair must be visiting again. From a distance, I could see fluff decorating her back, an unusual sight. I moved in for a closer look. This female was downcast, and everything about her looked roughed up, not well. Then, through my camera lens, I saw a single red feather under her left eye. She turned her head, and there was an eye socket, housing a partial eye. I could not believe what I was seeing - this was Stevie. She'd been missing, presumed deceased, for 8 days. Now, here she was, literally, as far as I knew, back from the dead. She is missing chest feathers (bare in one spot), neck feathers, crest feathers, secondary feathers - all of which fits with a BT possum attack. But her flight is strong, and I've seen her every day over the past few days, back at the hollow, softly talking. The mystery of Stevie - she just keeps giving . . . (part 1 sighting #4745004)
