User's notes

Part 3 of weaning of a young gang-gang. The day after I'd seen the Stevie pair allofeeding/begging each other, I passed by the Tyrell hollow and heard a familiar circular begging sound. It was the Stevie pair's daughter. She begged persistantly, but no one tended to her - in fact, she was snapped at by a male (unsure if it was dad - there were many other gang-gangs around). I found it quite heart-rending to watch her, all alone, huddled up within herself. After about half-an-hour, the young female was called by her parents, and the three went up to their high roosting place. I had to leave, but Cam continued to watch. He relayed that the young female was not fed, but was groomed by her parents. I believe that this young female has now joined a flock of other young birds that seem to hang around the area, as I think I recognised her. My sense is that the flock consists of a range of ages, from last year's fledgings to this year's fledgings (no data to prove this, though)
