I wonder about the effectiveness of cutting and dabbing. There seems to be a lot of regrowth, especially if the cut stem is over 7cm long. Do you have any figures?

I wonder too https://canberra.naturemapr.org/users/8081. Since 2-3 years I observe an increase of re-sprout of previously treated woody weeds. Unfortunately, I don't have numbers, however, some FoMM regulars observe this too. I do wonder whether the use of dabbers is the reason. May be too little herbicide applied, maybe sponges contaminated with soil, maybe herbicide mix too old ... I wonder whether other groups who use dabbers observe the same? it is not only an ineffective use of volunteers' time, but also more herbicide required when treatment requires repeat particularly when re-sprout is multi-stemmed. I prefer spray bottles which I also need for frilling and I do have good experiences over the past 22 years with those.
