User's notes

Planted by ACT govt (TCCS) contractor despite being a declared pest species. Reported via fixmystreet and was told no action taken because its what the contractor chose!

@MichaelMulvaney A few things with this. I don't have any information about the Fix my Street report. We would need to establish the exact species, as only H. helix is a Prohibited plant, not H. hibernica.
Also the New Biosecurity legislation is coming into effect very soon. This will give us much more direct ways to deal with breaches that the current legislation does not. Hopefully things will be much more straight forward when dealing with these situations in the future.

If I can find a contact in TCCS I will see if I can't just remove the plants anyhow.

Thanks Harley - it appears that there has been a mis-identification of much of the Hedera that is weedy across S-E-Australia. Certainly Hedera hibernica is the one most commonly found in ACT's woodland - I think the Department needs to address the new taxonomic information see Hedera sp. (helix or hibernica)
