Third nesting for the season - they are either suckers for punishment, or dedicated and patient (and I cannot understand why they are vying for the opportunity to sit on the eggs!). I noticed the group busily stalking around, then one found a feather, knocked it against the wood a few times, examined it, then flew off with eight following, low and silent. I also followed - and to my surprise, found them back at the nest. I've watched this family group literally double in size over the past four years, building at least three mud nests. This nest seems to finally work for them, as they have bred here for at least two years.
