This is the rust fungus Uredo spyridii found in this case on Pomaderris aspera, it has also been recorded from Spyridium parvifolium. A description of Uredo spyridii is given in D.McAlpine Rusts of Australia 1906 Dept of Agriculture Victoria. Description P204, Illustration Plate XXVIII fig 245. It seems to only have been found producing uredospores. There are three previous reports shown on ALA of it from the ACT (records from NSW Primary Industries herbarium. Spores are produced in abundance on both sides of the leaf. Microscope images show the uredospores, the last image shows the leaf surface.
