Unusual for non-limestone and dry area

Handful of plants on south facing slope under some large rocks.

Are the rocks in the immediate area limestone? A. trichomanes often occurs on limestone and is rare elsewhere

I have been back and I would say the rocks are not limestone. I've added a picture. There are some interesting historical fern sightings on the south side of the ridge including Gristle Fern and Rough Tree Fern. Very cool to add this to the list!

The area is made up of a rhyodacite ignimbrite (which is a volcanic rock). it is part of the Laidlaw Volcanic Suite.
