User's notes

Look what I found while following a moth . . . the movement I caught from the corner of my eye was not an insect but a frog . . . in a bush! (then I remembered that there was probably a reason tree frogs are called 'tree' frogs)

I'm not sure what to make of this one. It appears to be a young animal and there is no ewingii dorsal stripes and the tympanum is not covered by the dark stripe behind the eye. It is probably verreauxii but happy to hear other views. To be honest I am not sure what else it could be.

note the black stripe extending from snout, across eye and down the body, with the red colouration around the hind legs . This is a young citropa.

Thank you both for your time. I think, @BrianLR, you made a similar observation on another sighting in the same area - sighting #4428263

thanks for the explanation! Initially I thought verreauxii but then the dark stripe looked too narrow and there was no dorsal pattern nor any blotches in the groin. will be more aware of these key id features now

cheers

I had also thought a possible citropa and based on the comments so far am happy to go with that in the absence of any further suggestions
