User's notes

Panicum ?? Growing on cracking dark clay, in shallow depressions that are now dry but have been flooded (along with other wetland plants). Ligule short, hairs or ciliate (not obvious in photo). Habit = slightly decumbent.

I agree with Panicum sp. Unfortunately I am not familiar with P. gilvum and similar species so I won't likely won't be able to ID this. The key doesn't help as it requires dissection of florets and use of a microscope/ hand lens.

Size, colour and shape of grass consistent with P. gilvum.

Panicum gilvum was implicated in death of numbers of Eastern Grey kangaroos in the Riverina in April 2014, and again in 2015. Also photosensitivity in lambs.
