User's notes

Abundant through this lagoon, and along drainage lines, and in shallow flood-out areas. Just over 1 to 1.5 m tall. Habit: erect in shallow water: decumbent, sprawling when younger and in water deeper than about 25/30 cm. Lamina is about 10 cm long, 1 cm wide. Anthers are lavender coloured. Amphibious grass; stoloniferous; rooting at nodes. Germinated and early growth in and under shallow water. Glyceria ? Hoping this is not Glyceria maxima, the introduced species. Glyceria australis was collected here in the past (2008).

I'm not familiar with Glyceria myself. Looking at images on Google G. maxima seems to have a much denser inflorescence than G. australis with many more spikes than what I can see in your images.

thanks, Matt, that is a a bit of a relief.
So, any opinions as to whether this could be Glyceria australis ? (Admittedly photos are not the best: but i do have some material being pressed, and could provide a bit more info if that helped.
