Probably L. curtisiae but the habitat sounds wrong for that species, which is usually in open, rocky situations

Not J. continuus (has continuous pith in the culms and the flowerhead is diffuse, as Jane says). Pics of the long leaf sheaths (cataphylls) at the base of the culms would help with ID.
