GPSed. SVL ~60mm? Although it had lost it's tail it looked healthy enough. Looks like limbs would fail to meet when adpressed so I'm guessing it was a female? Found by my FOG colleague Paul Jennings during a FOG work party.
Handy tip, Acritoscincus all have undivided frontoparietals, divided here. So Pseudemoia and probably entrecasteauxii, but would be keen for Will to confirm.
Thanks, I was lazy and overlooked the frontoparieto lobes on the head above its eyes - these look paired when zooming in on the second pic? Yep looks like your ID is the one as per my copy of Wilson & Swan (2nd Edtn). If so then great to have another species to add to the list for this site. Given the size guessing that it's female?
Yes agreed it isPseudemoia. This one is a bit tricky as it could also be a more weakly-marked pagenstecheri. Did you see it in grassland or woodland. If in grassland, and I think this site is the Top Hut native grassland site, then it will most likely will be pagenstecheri. I hope that helps.
Thanks Will. Apols for the late reply. Yes it is was in the grassland road corridor adjoining the southside natural temperate grassland paddock at Top Hut TSR. So based on your comment will you or John be confirming it as P. pagenstecheri?
