That's a probably, difficult to seperate L.meridonalis and L.denisflora when not in flower.

Agree with JaneR as the peduncles are very short. Even agree with Vicflora more; densiflora, flaccida and meridionalis should all be regarded as varieties of meridionalis

Yes, I agree with that treatment also. But I'm not sure about calling this var.flaccida, I thought it was seperated based upon a lack of dense hairs along the leaf margin which this plant has.

If we all agree with the taxonomy there it'd probably be worth updating, we can still ID to subsp/sp. if possible but in many cases it would make things a fair bit simpler. Not convinved on the ID here, yeah I think the leaf margins of flaccida is supposed to be only sparsely hairy while this one does seem pretty hairy along that leaf margin.

I appreciate the discussion.
In suggesting L. flaccida, I thought I was following VicFlora which separates the subspecies by "sparsely hairy" v "densely hairy along margin (hairs mostly appearing as an unbroken marginal line)". As I didn't see an unbroken marginal line, I opted for flaccida. I also thought the colour of tepals and capsules was closer to flaccida: "yellow-ish to mid-brown".
But I'm happy to go with whatever the consensus is.

Hmmmm, that's interesting. I would've said the hairs on this one do appear like an unbroken marginal line, it's plants like Luzula flaccida (Pale Woodrush) I am treating as L.flaccida as they pretty much lack marginal hairs altogether.
