User's notes

Immature or juvenile. Greyish robin with brown wings and a brownish head. Belly slightly paler than chest and partially segmented white patch on wings. Female or immature rose robin eliminated by: 1. Complete lack of pink/red tinge on breast 2. Relatively long bill compared to rose robins 3. Ticking/clicking contact calls 4. Absence of yellow on base of bill, which I believe would be present on a young rose robin In dry woodland bordering a gully. Seen moving between very low eucalypt saplings and slightly taller eucalypts, all less than 3 metres in height in the vicinity of a loose flock of thornbills. weebills and pardalotes. I initially thought it was a red-cap after spending hours looking for them at Shepherds Lookout yesterday and the day before, before revising my view to rose and changing it back again after consulting a birding companion.
