That has too few prolegs to be Plusiinae, so I think it is in Geometridae. The dark ring around the head looks unusual, but I cannot see one like it among the webpages linked to http://lepidoptera.butterflyhouse.com.au/geometridae/geometridae-cats.html I do hope you can rear it to an adult, so that we might be able to determine the species.
