Significant sighting

Previously only known from gibraltar creek in the ACT, this sighting adds a new locality & significant range extension for this locally rare & distinctive sedge.

I think it is worth noting that Ned & I found between 100-150 plants at various point along blue gum creek & blue gum ridge. I would suggest this species is "uncommon" rather than "rare" in the ACT & that historical lack of records may stem from the remote nature of this habitat. It is perhaps also a species that benefits from fire.
